5th XI win SAL Minor Cup
In a close game played at Old Parmiterians on 3G, the Hill 5th XI came out 2-1 winners in the SAL Minor Cup Final against Old Meadonians 4th XI.
Meads took the lead in the third minute of added time in the first half. A close poke in from 10 yards out.
The equaliser for The Hill was somewhat fortunate. Montoya's low cross was behind Ramirez who made a connection, only to deflect it onto the chest of a Meads defender which then found its way into the net. 1-1 on 49 minutes.
On the hour, a header from Taragonna was, with the 'keeper stranded, a certain goal. A Meads defender saved it with his hand, which cost him a red card and a penalty, which Montoya scored to make it 2-1 in the 61st minute.
Meads piled on the pressure for the next half an hour but were unable to level the match.
